Brian Dineen, LCPC, LADC, CCS

I am an independent therapist whose practice is located in the Solid Roots Counseling building at 331 Pine Street in Lewiston, Maine. When entering into the counseling relationship, I strive to be a compassionate, adaptive, and energetic therapist while mainly working with adults, adolescents, and families. I seek to provide a safe and compassionate space in order to empower individuals to be able to become aware of and productively address any issues or barriers preventing healthy forward progress in life. Life can be challenging and unpredictable for everyone and whether an individual’s struggles are related to anxiety, depression, previous trauma, impulse control, stress management, anger, relationship/family challenges, substance abuse, or co-occurring issues that combine substance abuse and mental health challenges, I will attempt to collaboratively work with individuals/families to change or adjust the potentially unhelpful patterns related to feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unhappy. During the counseling process, I will seek to assist individuals with discovering their forgotten or untapped strengths and abilities along with clarifying their life guiding values in order to facilitate growth along with feeling more grounded, resilient, and flexible when dealing with life’s challenges. There is hope and with some work, positive change can and will happen. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches including Mindfulness, Mindful Self Compassion, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Somatic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Existential Therapies, and Psychodynamic Therapy. Thank you for reading my therapist profile and I will look forward to speaking with you. All the best.
